The University of Alicante will deliver on 24th May the UA Notario del Humor 2012 Award to Antonio Fraguas Forges, who has confirmed his presence at the Aifos Hall, at 1.15 pm to collect the award and participate in a free-entrance panel discussion. He will also be guided in a tour around the exhibition of the 12th Edition on Social Humour, which this year is devoted to the Outraged and has been made possible thanks to the sponsorship of the Foundation Pelaez Castillo.
Professor in Languages and Systems, Manuel Palomar Sanz, is definitively the new University President. The next step is the publication of the decree of appointment by the Regional Minister. Once published, the date of his inauguration as president of the University of Alicante will be set.
The University of Alicante's Museum joins the celebrations of International Museum Day on Friday, 18th May, which this time will have the slogan: "A Changing World. New challenges, new inspirations". Designed for families, some workshops have been prepared to interact with the works of art exhibited, to live art musically and, even to "tune" the peculiar architecture of the Museum building.
The Gold Medal will be awarded posthumously to Balbino Mancheño and the Social Council's Awards for Academic Excellence will be handed out. The closing ceremony of the University of Alicante's academic year 2011/2012 will take place on Monday, 14 May, at 12 noon, at the Auditorium and will be chaired by the University President, Ignacio Jimenez Raneda.
