El Consejo de Gobierno de la Universidad de Alicante aprueba el nombramiento de cuatro nuevos Doctores Honoris Causa
El último Consejo de Gobierno del curso académico 2009/2010 en la Universidad de Alicante ha decidido conceder el nombramiento de Doctor Honoris Causa a Ramón Pelegero Sanchís (Raimon) y a José Luis García Delgado que serán investidos el próximo curso, junto a Deborah Duen Ling Chung y Alan Loddon Yuille, cuya propuesta ya fue aprobada en el transcurso de un Consejo de Gobierno anterior.

The University of Alicante researches the effects of marine species migration to the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Channel
The University of Alicante is researching the effects of marine species migration from the Red Sea -through the Suez Channel- on biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea This research project is being supervised by Alfonso Ramos, Professor at the University of Alicante, and developed in the South of Tunisia. The verifications made, point out that around 80 per cent of cases, species have been naturalized in the new area without being detrimental to indigenous species.

The University of Alicante President has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Spanish Universities' Communication Offices Network
On 5 July, the CRUE (Spain's Standing Conference of University Presidents) held its General Assembly at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where the University Presidents decided to appoint Ignacio Jiménez Raneda, President of the Universidad de Alicante, as the new President of the Spanish Universities' Communication Offices Network (REGACUE).
