| Miscellaneous
Information |
Checks
Personal or company checks cannot be accepted at the registration desk or
in shops in Alicante. Traveller's checks are accepted by major banks.
Credit Cards
Credit cards are accepted in almost all shops, restaurants, taxis
etc. Often, they will ask for a passport as well.
Bank/Debit
Cards
Generally,
your debit card will work in the ATM machines in Spain. You will
most likely save significantly (5-7 %) in the exchange by taking money out
from a machine rather than brining cash due to commission fees at exchange
booths. However, check with your bank before traveling as to any
maximum amount of money you are allowed to take out per day.
Currency
The official currency is the Euro.
Insurance
The congress organizers cannot accept any liability for personal injuries
sustained, or for loss or damage to property belonging to congress
participants (or their accompanying persons), either during, or as a
result of, the congress. Registration fees do not include insurance.
We strongly recommended that at the time you register for the congress and
book your travel you also check the validity of your own insurance.
Internet
Computer service for e-mail etc will be available at the conference site.
Language
The
official conference language is English.
Messages during the conference
During the conference participants may be contacted as follows:
E-mail: jvigo@usal.es or vigo@ua.es.
Messages received by the secretariat will be posted on the Message Board
at the conference venue. Participants may also be contacted at the
hotels, according to their instructions.
Special requirements?
Anyone requiring special arrangements in order to fully participate in the
congress should enclose a written description of the needs together with
the completed registration form.
Time
The time in Spain coincides with the Central European Time. During summer
this is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (UTC).
