The University of Alicante finalizes its proposal of Graduate Titles and widens its educational offers
The Governing Council approves the Graduate Titles in "Nursing", "Human Nutrition and Dietetics" and the Joint Programme in Tourism and Business Management (TADE).

The UA Governing Council approves its 1st Corporate Equality Plan
The University of Alicante, an institution acting as a transmitter of values, created the Equal Opportunities Unit in January 2008 to promote and launch its policy on equal opportunities between women and men within the academic setting. In response to this committment, the director of the Equal Opportunities Unit, Mª José Frau, has presented the first UA Corporate Equality Plan between women and men to the Governing Council, which has been approved by the latter.

Urgent help in Haiti for earthquake victims
Haiti has been devasted by an earthquake which has caused thousands of victims and demolished one of the poorest cities on the planet. The UA will assign its 2010 budget for humanitarian aid to alleviate the effects of devastation. Also, individual contributions in the Valencian region can be deposited in an account open at the CAM banking entity to raise funds for this purpose.

The UA, European leader in the main EC cooperation programme
International Cooperation Programme TEMPUS supports the modernization and development of higher education in the European Union neighbouring countries. The main objective of the programme is to reach the convergence the European university system derived from the Bologna Process. In November, Spain was awarded 9 of the 26 projects submitted in the 2nd TEMPUS IV Call, seven of which were directly awarded to the University of Alicante.
