WHAT
IS IT?
The creation of a
multidisciplinary Women Studies Centre, attached to the University of
Alicante, follows the lines of already created centres at other
universities as a institutional answer to the need of including within
the university atmosphere an space for reflection and performance on
gender, from an open, critical approach, according to the social
needs of gender promotion and equality, with the solid conviction that
the development of women rights stands before the development of the
society rights as a whole.
The WSC is co-founder of the "Valencian Universities Coordinating Centre for Gender Studies"
