CRITERIA TO PERFORM JOINT ASSESSMENT TESTS FOR THE VALIDATIONS OF FOREIGN UNIVERSITY DEGREES (Ministerial Order of  21 July 1995, BOE of 27 July).

 Joint assessment tests at the University of Alicante's Faculty of Law:

- Modalities:

A) General joint assessment test: it is related to the total amount of mainstream subjects described on the Royal Decree that controls the guidelines to be followed for the university degree of Law

Therefore, it comprises the mainstream subjects of our study programme. Compulsory, optional and free-elective subjects are also included.

 B) Specific joint assessment test: it is based on the total mainstream subjects described on the MEC's resolutions by which validation depend on the overcoming of such joint assessment tests.

 Therefore, it comprises all the related content incorporated to our study programme for the subjects specified on the corresponding resolution for each candidate.

- Joint-assessment tests proceedings

a) Programmes: at every academic year commencement, the specific programmes will be submitted to the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs for the joint assessment test purpose.

b) Registration: those interested should submit application to the Faculty of Law's Secretary Office within the established period (normally during the first two weeks in March), and pay the corresponding fees to be able to take the two available calls during the academic year.

c) Call: assessment tests will be held in two calls: one in the month of July and the other, in the month of September, which will start the first Monday of the mentioned months. The final date for examinations will be communicated to candidates prior to 30 days of such a date.

Examination panel:
Composition: at each academic year commencement, the corresponding areas will appoint one member at least -who is to be civil servant of the teaching staff- to enter the drawing of lots to determine the panel composition. Such a panel will be made up by five civil servants from the university teaching staff belonging to the areas of study related to the mainstream subjects. Each member of the panel should be attached to different areas, provided that the number of areas corresponding  to mainstream subjects is equal or higher than five. If this number is not reached, a maximum of member from the same area is allowed.

Organisation: the panel will be presided by the member with highest professional standing and seniority. In the case of equal standing, the president will be elected by seniority. The secretary will be the member with less seniority and professional standing.

Evaluation of the tests: the panel will assess the tests according to the most common qualifications on the scale from 1 to 10: suspenso (fail), aprobado (pass), notable (7-8.9), sobresaliente (9-9.9), matrícula de honor (magna cum laude). After the whole process, the final qualifications got by each candidate should be made public. Details on qualifications should be reserved for candidates to all purposes.

PERFORMANCE OF THE TEST: 
The test will be rendered in writing and will be based on the syllabuses concerned for general or specific test. The panel can decide on the level of performance to be rendered by candidates, according to the specific programme.
 

- Revisions and complaints

Candidates can lodge the corresponding complaints by applying the proceedings established by the Faculty of Law for the exams revision and complaints, with the required adaptations to the exams specificity.

TRANSITORIA: Exceptionally, candidates of the academic year 98-99, will take the exams the first Monday in the month of February for the ordinary call and the first Monday in July for the extraordinary call.
