The University of Alicante,
through its Entrance Secretariat attached to the Office of the Vice
President for Students, organizes University entrance examinations for
mature students (older than 25 years old) several years since.
The
Office of the Vice President for Students -with the aim of guiding and
informing about the details of these examinations, apart from
publishing useful guides on the internal rules, syllabi, objectives,
bibliography, etc. of the subjects concerned- organizes coordination
meetings with the academic staff of Adult Education Centres (CFPA) every
year. Some of the trainees in these centres are determined in taking
university entrance examinations.
With the changes introduced in entrance examinations with the publication of Royal Decree 1892/2008 of 14 November, by which university entrance conditions and error corrections are controlled, the examinations to be held in May 2010 will be ruled by mencionado Real Decreto y la nueva Orden de la Consellería
pendiente de publicación.
With the publication of the
ROYAL DECREE 743/2003, of 20 June -by which University entrance for students older than 25 years is controlled, and the
Order from the Regional Ministry for Corporations, University and Science of 1/2/2006, by which University Entrance Examinations for over-25s students are controlled within the Valencian Community,
the university entrance examinations to be held in May 2009 will be
ruled by such a Royal Decree and the new Order of the Regional Minister.
The
University de Alicante, after the experience gained in past seminars,
tries to deepen this year in the task of guiding and informing students
on these examinations and strengthen collaboration links with the
teachers in Adult Education Centres, which will allow the students
interested in these examinations to get better preparation.
This is why our University has prepared a
GUIDANCE SEMINAR FOR PREPARING MATURE STUDENTS (OVER-25s) TO UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.
Structure of the Course:
This seminar is aimed at those mature students (over-25s) wishing to take University Entrance Examinations.
The
objective is establishing some work patterns guiding students in the
preparation of both core and specific subjects making up the
examinations.
The Seminar, through its six
workshops for each of the subjects, writen material support and updated
information, is planned to help students access the University of
Alicante's OnLIne Campus, learn the contents and procedures of each of
the subjects, both common and specific, and the structure of evaluation
systems.
Sessions
(with a total of nine hours for each subject, except for Text Analysis
which will have a duration of twelve hours) will be taught by teachers
from both the University and Adult Education Centres, coordinated by
the experts who have designed the different admission tests.
Students registered in the Seminar will hold a
University Identification Card which will allow them to enter the computing rooms and other on-campus services (sports, seminars, libraries, e-mail:, etc.).
The Seminar will start with two session to make the development of the course easier:
-

-

Academic Calendar:
The seminar will be taught on Friday afternoon from 31 October 2008 to 3 April 2009.
Registration period and fees:
Registration can be applied from 28 September to 7 October, both inclusive, at the University of Alicante's Student Service and the fees are €60. Under no circumstances should fees exemption or reduction be applied.
Since

Registration will be accepted by rigorous order of application.
Information sessions will only be held for those subjects with more than 20 students registered.
