TURKEY PROGRAMME |
This
Turkey
Programme forms part of the University of Alicante's internationalisation
aims and activities, and represents an ambitious attempt to consolidate
and improve the exchange of ideas and knowledge between the university
community here and in Turkey and to promote mobility and cultural diversity
within both countries.
Turkey is one of Europe's most fascinating countries, which has an increasingly dynamic economy and a great desire to form part of the European Union. Few of us are aware that Turkey in fact is Spain's tenth most important customer in economic terms - ahead of Japan - and yet we know little about its cultural and historical heritage and of its current economic progress. Other prestigious universities around the World (Yale University, University of Maryland, Columbia University, University of Southampton for example) have long enjoyed links with this exciting country, links which have contributed to spreading its valuable cultural and historical wealth in the context of its attractive present and future. OUR TURKEY PROJECT has the following areas of interest and information: - Agreements
with Turkish universities
The way in which this project develops and expands will depend on how researchers, lecturers, students and society as a whole decide to enjoy the advantages offered by internationalisation. Through this web page I would like to invite the University Community and any other interested parties to learn about our new, exciting project and to offer their ideas, initiatives, programmes etc. which are necessary for it to have long term content and feasibility.
