VOICE MESSAGING SERVICE
 

1.- What is voice messaging service?

The Voice Messaging Service allows you to collect telephone calls in a voice mail box that can be customized for each user, with the capacity to support advanced telephone operations such as voice messaging and automatic operator.

2.- How does this service operate?

At the initial phase, the server transmits the following message:

2.1.- “Good morning/afternoon/evening, welcome to the University of Alicante, the person you are calling is not available at the moment; if you wish, you can leave a message in his/her personal mail box. You can start your message now...”
2.2.- In case you have personalized your message, users can record their own message after the message mentioned above.
If you contact the system administrator, pre-recorded messages can be reduced, and remain as:“Good morning/afternoon/evening, welcome to the University of Alicante” and personalized message can be here included, ending with this machine message:You can start your message now...”
3.- How is this service activated?

from your telephone extension, dial*211#
When you receive a call, the telephone will ring 4 times and then the Voice Messaging Service will start.

If you have the diverted service installed if busy lines or absent, you should activate the “follow me” towards the Voice Messaging Service. Dial *21*3000#

The “Follow me” service prevails on diverts.In this case, calls split directly to the Voice Messaging Service, and no tone rings at the user extension.

4.- How is this service deactivated?

Dial #211#. If you have activated the “follow me” service, dial #21#

5.- How am I warned on new messages?

When the Voice Messaging Service hosts new messages,when you lift the receiver, you are informed on the existence of new messages by an interrupted tone.

6.- How are messages revised? 

6.1.- From the users' extension: 
Dial the extension associated to the voice messaging service. It will require a password and will start the message listening process
VOICE MESSAGING SERVER EXTENSION: 3000
6.2.- From an extension other than the user's or from outside: 
Call your extension. The Voice Messaging Service will answer you.
Click on # during the Welcome Message. It will require a password and will start the message listening process.
After you have already listened to all your messages, the system waits for 3 seconds before transmitting the following message: You have three options:
Store the message:dial “5”
Listen to it again:dial “2”
Delete it:dial “0”
Filed messages can be retrieved by dialing *2 after listening the block of messages.

We recommend that you should not store messages for more than one month since the system will delete them automatically after this period.

7.- Access password

Your starting password coincides with your extension. 
If you want to change it, dial *3 during the Welcome Message. Password are numerical sequences of a maximum of 5 numbers. If your password is “0”, the systems assumes that you do not want a password.

8.- Welcome Message Customization

If users end the messages listening dialing *5 directly, they enter the option “record a welcome message”. Thus, the personal welcome message is activated when an incoming call is emitted. After dialing *5, the following submenu appears to record welcome messages:

“1” Welcome message recording
 “2” Change of a welcome message
 “3” Welcome message listening
 “4” Check present message
 “5” Delete a message
 “*” To end with
