MEDICAL
CARE
Every student must have medical
insurance during their stay at the University of Alicante, and it is,
besides,
the students responsibility to provide themselves with this medical
cover.
In order to obtain medical
care, students belonging to the countries within the European Union,
the
Economic European Area and Switzerland, can apply for the European
Health
Card in their country of origin (EHC). The forms E-111 and E-128, for
temporary
stays, were replaced by the EHC the first of June 2004. For further
information,
you can consult the Erasmus Office at your home Institution.
The EHC is individual and
certifies the right of his/her holder to receive medical care in a
public
center during his/her stay in any of the countries previously
mentioned.
Foreign and native people will receive medical care on equal terms.
On the other hand, those
students who can´t get the EHC, must provide themselves with
private
health insurance.
Once in Alicante, students that have the EHC must register
with the Department of Health and Social
Security near their home address in Alicante. Following you'll find the

In the Campus of the University
of Alicante there is a surgery for emergencies taking place within the
Campus. For any other case, students must address the corresponding
Health
Center.
