The University of Alicante web site has available 556.923 html pages, 7.448 Word and 36.050 PDF files, apart from the Press report , which contains 65.952 pieces of news corresponding to 4.407 publications . We already have 795 users, responsible for maintaining and updating their own sections . The UA web site constitutes a real INFORMATION SYSTEM, intended to be a basic tool for the organised, quick and easy access, both to the University of Alicante and web sites outside the University (the searcher machine Tabarca is an example). Libraries  The University Library is made up by 7 reference libraries and several central technical units . Services for academic and research staff are numerous: purchase of bibliographical material, interlibrary loan, internal loan distribution, access to journal abstracts, etc. Also, the University Library offer a wide collectionof electronic resources (books, journals and databases).
A varied ancient book collection in digital format can be visited through the University Library Portal 'Miguel de Cervantes'.
