| ALICANTE UNIVERSITY HALL OF RESIDENCE |
The
Alicante University Hall of Residence,
whose director is Juan Antonio Mira López -promoted by the
Private Cultural Foundation integrated by the Savings Bank 'Caja de
Ahorros del Mediterráneo' and the University of Alicante-
started its academic activities in September 1986.
The premises of the University Hall of Residence can host 176 students
(both male and female) in single bedrooms, with telephone and heating
(6 bedrooms for postgraduates: 3 males and 3 females), 3 bedrooms
for students with disabilities. Also, there are 4 suite-type bedrooms
with bath, telephone and TV set available for guest lecturers as well
as 11 bedrooms with bath, telephone, TV set and air conditioner for
lecturers and guests.
It is distributed in two pavilions with a common area for services where you can find the assembly hall with a capacity of 346 places equipped with 8 mm. and 35 mm. cinema sets, library and reading room, TV. hall, music hall, photographic laboratory, computing room, study room, management and administration office, coffee bar, refectory service, Cookery and further services. It also has sports facilities, swimming pool, auxiliary field for five-a-side soccer and multisports track with electric installation for basketball, handball and volleyball. | ACCOMMODATION EXCHANGE DATABASE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE |

The accommodation exchange and rental flats database assigned to the Student Information Office - started with the aim of collecting in a single notice boards all the accommodation offers available and thus avoiding dispersion and duplicity in other places. Any person with any accommodation offer -furnished flat to let, room in a family- or students looking for more students to complete their flat can contact the Office. Those interested can collect a list containing the current offers existing classified by quarters, (including the option: rental, shared flats or room in a family, etc.) and further contact details: postal address, contact person, number of places, rates, etc. |

you are a student at the University of Alicante, look for accommodation
and want to be a supportive person with elderly people in search for
company, and/or help them with daily tasks, this programme offers you
the opportunity to get accommodation with elderly people selected by a
professional specialized team. The programme is supported by the Office
of the Vice President for Extracurricular Activities and is sponsored
by the 'Obra Social de Caja Madrid'. It is managed by the

| Housing Programme for Young Supportive People |
 TheTown Hall of Alicante has started this programme for young people (between 18 and 35 years old) willing to have a cheap flat rental rate (from €40€ to €60 a month) in turn of devoting from two to four weekly hours in the development of community services in the Juan XXIII Quarter.

| The University of Alicante's Office for Cooperation & International Relations
along with the Town Hall of Alicante and the
Studies Centre for Social Integration and Immigrant Training
(
CeiM
) have started the
Residence for Mediation and Co-development
an accommodation option addressed to immigrant students registered in the UA.
Students interested will have accommodation and boarding at the Residence plus a monthly assignment of €120 and advisory service for the development of -a minimum of 8 hours a week- supportive actions in the quarter. Places were first offered in January 2005 (from 17 January to 5 February). |
| Young Housing Exchange Database |

Young Housing is a service started by the Youth Council and the Municipal Housing Board of the Town Hall of Alicante, the INJUVE (Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs) and the Pro-Housing Association. The management is in charge of the Centro 14 ( Local Youth Resource Centre ) assigned to the Youth Council. The
service offers a rental accommodation exchange database for young
people in Alicante with rates lower than those found in the market.
Also, proprietors are guaranteed the rental money.

announces, on a yearly basis,
rental financial aid for youth and young couples
. Aimed at young people from 18 to 30 years old.
Also, the Regional Department of Social Welfare announces grants for the academic year 2005/2006 for young people living at Youth Residences of the Youth Valencian Institute (IVAJ) of the Generalitat Valenciana. |
