Teresa Gómez Reus is Senior Lecturer at the
University of Alicante, Spain, where she currently teaches courses on
American literature, feminist literary criticism and cultural theory.
Her essays on late nineteenth-century women writers, American ethnic
writers, and postmodern art have appeared in The Edith Wharton
Review, The International Journal of Gender Studies, The
Atlantic Literary Review, several Spanish journals, and a variety
of collection of essays. She has edited and translated into Spanish a
collection of Edith Wharton’s short stories, La carta: relatos
de Edith Wharton
(Barcelona 1999) and an anthology of her travel narratives,
Cuadernos de viaje
(Barcelona 2001). She has recently edited an issue on
women, representation,
and space for Feminismo/s, and an anthology of stories written
by British and American women at the fin du siècle (Barcelona
2006). Other co-edited books include Abanicos excéntricos:
ensayos sobre la mujer y la cultura posmoderna (Alicante and
Salamanca 1995) and 100% ensayos sobre el espacio estético femenino
(Sevilla 1993). She is currently preparing a
collection of essays on literary representations of domestic and
public space, and a book project on the female flâneur. Teresa
Gómez has been a visiting fellow at the Universities
of New York, Princeton, and M.I.T.
