Juan
A. Roche Cárcel holds an
MA in
Philosophy, and a PhD
in Sociology. He teaches
Sociology of Culture and Arts
at
the University of Alicante.
For three years, he
coordinated
the Art Network Board and
now he
is
Vice-President
of AESCA (Spanish Association of Sociology of Culture and Arts).
He
leads
a research team on an
I+D (Research and Development) Project about immigration called
SOLCOR,
i.e.
“Between
Solitude and Courage. Culture, Woman,
and Immigration in the Comunidad Valenciana.”
He also
participates in
the Mediterranean
Universities Cooperation Project on Immigration (UNIMEDIMIGRA).
He is the author of
several books about old
and contemporary
culture
as The Scene of Life:
A Sociologic and Cultural Interpretation of Greek Theatrical
Architecture,
Culture and Globalization:
Between
Conflict and Dialogue,
and From
Reality
to Mask:
The Evanescent
Society.
Furthermore he has

and book
